Marin Trail

When?
16th October 2004

Where?
Marin Trail near Betws-y-Coed.

Who?
Gatecrasher Steve, Mr Motivator.

Which way?
Just follow the "Marin" signs.

Is it published?
Yes. Try the Mountain Bike Wales website where there are maps and directions to get there.

Tracklog file? (What’s this?)
Yes. Download from here.

Highlights
Probably the best flowing singletrack sections in North Wales. Nothing too challenging, just lots of grin inducing sections of trail.
The final descent is fantastic.

Memories
I took one of my favourite cycling photos on this ride (above).

Route details
Distance: About 15 miles
Duration: 2 hours
Ascent: About 1500 feet?
% off-road: About 95%
Technical difficulty: 3/5
Fitness difficulty: 3/5

Directions
There is a map here.

Alternatively see the Tracklog file (above).

What else?
The trail drains well and is probably rideable all year round.

Llanrwst has a few little cafes, including one on the square.

Llanrwst's main problem is that there are scumbags in white cars who drive around shouting at people. They are junkies, just like the yellow coat man, who weighs 30 stone, and survives on take aways, as he is too mad to survive on anything else
